Model 6506C, 6513G, 6513GL, 6513R
The Unidata 6506 tipping bucket rain gauge uses the tipping bucket principle to record rainfall. The Unidata 6506 can be connected to many dataloggers/ RTUs including the Unidata Neon Remote Logger range.
The Unidata 6506 tipping bucket rain gauge is sturdily constructed with a stainless steel jacket, copper collector and painted marine grade aluminium base.
The integrated syphon mechanism delivers high levels of accuracy across a broad range of rainfall intensities. Each unit consists of a collector funnel with stainless steel leaf sieve, an integrated syphon control mechanism, an outer enclosure with quick-release fasteners, and base which houses the tipping bucket mechanism. This ensures reliable rainfall recording in even the highest rainfall intensities.
The unit includes dual output reed switch as well as dual rainfall discharge outlets for water collection and/or analysis. The bucket tips when precipitation 0.2mm has been collected. Each tip is marked by a reed switch closure and transmitted to a datalogger and/or used by a telemetry system.
Optional heater kit and pole mounting bracket are available.
6513G Soil Probes are precision multi-function and multi-level sub-surface soil sensors offering continuous reliable and repeatable monitoring of soil moisture, temperature and optional salinity (EC). They have been designed to provide accurate and consistent data by utilising advanced temperature and salinity compensation techniques, enabling better farming practices like better crop selection, meaningful irrigation and fertiliser decision-making.
The sensors inside the probe are spaced at 10cm intervals and probes can be ordered as a set of four, eight, twelve or sixteen sensors. All probes report soil moisture and temperature, however, even though all probes utilise salinity compensation, only pro-models output salinity/EC metrics.
6513G sensors are uniquely designed to have a large field of influence which provides more meaningful measurements of the local soil. The field of influence refers to the size of the electric field emitted by a sensor, and ultimately determines the volume of the soil that it can measure. A larger field of influence means a greater sample size, minimising the effect that slurry, objects, roots and air pockets have on readings.
6513G soil probes are long-life instruments that are fully encapsulated to ensure maximum immunity to environmental degradation and are backed up by 5-year warranty. Furthermore, each probe is individually calibrated in the factory, so they do not need to be re-calibrated in the field. This assures a lifetime sensor to sensor and probe to probe repeatability.
6513R-02 soil moisture, temperature and EC sensor is a cost-effective precision multi-function sensor that utilises MODBUS communication protocol. The fully sealed probe is temperature compensated, ensuring data accuracy and easy installation.
6513R-03 soil EC and salinity sensor integrates graphite electrode, and precision platinum thermometer for accurate, temperature compensated measurements of soil salinity and EC. The sensor is simple and easy to operate and suitable for monitoring of water and salt dynamics in the soil as well as in anti-corrosion monitoring of the underground oil and gas pipelines.
When these instruments are used with a companion Unidata IP data logger, collected data is transmitted to a central Neon server where data can be viewed on the Neon Web server in near real-time from any browser. Same data can be reported to other systems using email, ftp, and web services.
